THE WILL OF PHILLIP WILSON JR.
Transcribed and extracted from the
Kentucky Historical Society by S. B. Frazier
In the name of God, Amen.
Know all men by these presents that I Phillip Wilson in my proper mind and senses, doth this day bequeath and divide my estate in Clay County and State of Kentucky as this is my last will and testimony given from under my and hand and seal -----The above named estate to be placed as follows: All my debts first to be paid out of my estate, then afterward I want my wife to have a third part of my land her lifetime, and after her death I want her part to be equally divided between my two sons, Pleasant and Phillip, and the balance of the land divided equally among all my children and I want my wife to hold in her possession, her lifetime the third part of the balance of my estate, and at her death it all to be equally divided among all my sons and daughters. What I have given my children that have left me must be counted out of their part, and when the balance of my children get as much as I give them that have left me, the balance that is left then to be divided among all my children equally I want my wife to hold all my estate to raise and support my children and until they become of age, and as they leave her I want the to have a much as the rest got as have left me now, and when the youngest child becomes of age, then divide the balance that is left among all my children equally except wifes third and she is to keep that her lifetime, and also all the land or the benefit of it is to go to raise and support my children on until the youngest becomes of age, then all to be divided equally as above stated, all but my wifes third part.
Given from under my hand and seal, March 29th day 1837
