LEANDER A. CLARK was born at South Fork, Owsley County, Kentucky March 5, 1890 and departed this life in the Veteran's Hospital at Dayton, Ohio Feb 3, 1936. He was laid to rest in Gibson's cemetery in Bright, Indiana near Harrison, Ohio. Mr. Clark was a member of the Disabled Veterans Masonic Fraternity, Junior Order United American Mechanics, and Odd Fellows. At the time of his death he was a teacher in the Cincinnati Public School System. He had taught school in Owsley County and several other places in Kentucky.
Mr. Clark was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky State Teachers College, the University of Kentucky and the University of Cincinnati and was one year short of the doctorate degree. He served his country during the World War.
Mr. Clark was a member of the Presbyterian church, having united with that church at Booneville, Ky in this eighth year. He had been superintendent of the M.E. Sunday School and taught the Men's Bible Class at California, Ohio for almost ten years. He lived a true Christian life and said that he was ready to meet God when the summons came. He was a kind and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Mae Clark, two sons, Willie and Hubert, one daughter, Winnie Lou and three sisters a twin sister, Mrs. Theo Baker of Miamisburg; Mrs. Henry Jennings of Middletown Ohio; and Mary Clark of Orgonia Ohio and a host of friends throughout Kentucky and Ohio.
