James Monroe Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia
to all to whom these presents shall Come Greeting Know Ye, That by virtue
of a Land office Treasury warrant Number twelve thousand three hundred
and forty one, Issued the eighteenth day of June Seventeen hundred and
eighty two, There is Granted by the said Commonwealth unto Henry
Gabart assignee of George Gabart A Certain tract or parcel of land con
taining seventy one Acres, by survey bearing date the seventh day of
February one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven, lying and
being in the County of Washington on the north waters of Beaver
Creek a north branch of Holstien River, and bounded as followeth
to wit, beginning at a poplar and black walnut corner to Joseph
Gray thence South eighteen degrees East eighty three poles to a hickory
and small chesnut on the north side of a ridge South sixty two degrees
West fifty four poles to a black oak South eighty five degrees West
one hundred and twenty eight poles crossing a branch to a white
oak and dogwood North seventeen degrees East thirty six poles to
a hickory and white oak corner to Peter Mompower and with his
lines North seventy degrees East fifty six poles crossing a branch to
a gum and two white oaks between two sink holes North eighteen degrees
East sixty poles to two small black walnuts and a poplar and East
sixty poles to the beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold
the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said
Henry Gabart and his Heirs for ever, in witness whereof the said James
Monroe Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath
hereunto set his hand, and caused the lesser seal of the said Common
wealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the twenty seventh day of October
in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and of the Common
wealth the twenty fifth
