Dr. Archibald M. Glass

One of Owsley County's Finest Physicians

ARCHIBALD M. GLASS, M.D., one of the leading practitioners of the medical profession in eastern Kentucky, was born in Owsley County, Ky., June 17, 1863, and is a son of Dr. Wilson H. and Martha J. Glass, natives of Virginia. Dr. Wilson H. Glass, was a popular physician in eastern Kentucky for many years, and was well known in Owsley and adjoining counties.

Archibald M. Glass was reared on the farm and received a common school education. About 1879 he commenced the study of medicine, and subsequently attended the College of Physicians and Surgeons, of Baltimore, MD. In 1885 he graduated in medicine from the University of Louisville, Ky., with high honors. He then began practice in Owsley County, where he has since been actively engaged, and is a well read and able physician. September 22, 1885, he married Miss Lucy M. Herd, a daughter of Col. Andrew J. and Elizabeth Herd, of Owsley County. They are the parents of one child, Frederick A. Politically the Doctor is a Republican.
